The most recognizable trademark of Apple products is the user-end experience - the catalogue is developed around the user and his needs. Apple's intuitive software transformed into obsession with software and hardware simplicity.

What makes simplicity so valuable?

Simplicity builds character and recognition. The beauty of the products lied in their minimalism, and ,as a byproduct, status and prestige.

The products are the embodiment of Steve Jobs' vision - a minimalistic product with extreme precision. The usability is the main focus - the user specific needs were thought through and through. I even go a step further and defend that Apple thrives through relentless user testing and strong market strategy.

How does Apple turn their user understanding into a competitive advantage?

By defining the target audience and their pain points, Apple can create an environment capable of converting and keeping the majority of their customers.

Another strong reason is the friction when switching to other competitors. The 'Apple bubble' is evident - an ecosystem where products communicate between them and not easily with other brands, the Apple name and brand conventions, the beautiful designs, and so on, these reasons isolate Apple from the rest of the technology market.

How does Apple turn marketing into loyal customers?

Marketing is also a strong tool used to position Apple as a prestige company that "Thinks different" - a cultural identity for visionaries and non-conformists. The power of marketing was backed with premium pricing and immersive retail experiences. Minimalistic open-space stores where geniuses advise the buyer about the best products. The conclusion, a framing of Apple as untraditional, powerful and exclusive.

Market and Customer Discovery

Big institutional discounts allowed Apple to step into teaching role. By aiming at the next generation and teaching them how to use the Mac products, Apple created a need in younger generations and it worked as market-entry abd a trampoline for UX knowledge - Apple refined user-friendly features and preferences based on feedback of their future customers.

Apple's marketing techniques could have been fatal rather than empowering. Just like Nintendo, Apple valued originality, avoided competing in market trends and focused in originality rather than manufacturing more advanced hardware. Apple avoided the most powerful product and focused on the most acessible and desirable product. Over time, the marketing incentives resulted in audience behavioral change - the people Apple had introduced to its products through education, design and markeitng became accustomed to their products and loyaty followed. The brand gradually became self-reinforced - and mouth to mouth became the main marketing campaign.

Freedom and control

The biggest issue with Apple products is the customization. Apple's idea of visionary user is imposed. The company does not allow the user to participate in the experiences but rather guide him through them. This drives my thought into comparison with Android software, the broad customization allows user creativity - space to roam and explore. The sandbox fortifies self-expression but diminishes the brand exclusive power.

Apple is an example of a company treasures the user needs and lifestyle, a story of success derived from easy to use products and immersive experiences. Put together to build novelty and desire - from the exclusive language, the strong marketing about differentiation and vision, the prestige pricing and the shielded "Apple bubble" - the exclusivity economic moat is a genius approach to manufacturing. This is a formidable approach to business: by focusing on the user the most, a company builds its respect and customer loyalty.

Could the very thing that makes Apple powerful be its greatest weakness?

On the other hand, the user experience can become a box where the company's power diminishes the user's freedom. The user becomes predictable and shaped to the company's standard - and not the company shaped to the user.
